In Taiwanese traditional funeral ceremony, people burn paper offerings for their ancestors and for deceased family members. At local supermarket you can buy so called “hell money”(another kind) issued by ‘the hell bank corporation’.  Also you can find other items of clothing and luxury goods such as televisions and mobile phones made of paper in some particular stores. People believe that deceased people enable spend “hell money” and use every paper items burned by people alive, so they can live better lives in the afterlife.

In the past, you will see some simple paper dolls as kids(servant) to serve the people who have passed away, and traditional paper house that’s for the dead to live in. Nowadays, the paper offerings funeral industry is blooming even in economical depression, peopel can buy everything they want to burn in market (or customize it). Not only the basic paper products you can find in online shop, but much creative items such as iphone, New BMW X6, Wii, ps3, cellphone and digital camera, customatics, massage chair, golden watch, laptop, bali villa, even the gun?! for the mafia I think….

Anyway I will say tha is dedicate paper art operated as a fashion/ modern industry. Beyond that, you can also print and fold paper offerings by yourself.

Today people can do everything via internet serivice such as the ancestor worship, worship guide, throw bamboo rope by wii and draw divination lots on web, To send the gift to people in heaven by Gmail(Godmail), and burn it on web! That’s much eco-friendly.
